Published: Powder Magazine (Sugarloaf feature)

Last spring I got a call from Powder Magazine with an assignment to shoot a feature at Surgarloaf Resort, Maine.  Over 5 long days and nights last March I soaked in all that the resort had to offer.  Along the way I met a bunch of great skiers, funny as hell old timers and ate and drank all the suggested offerings.  Sugarloaf is quite a unique place and the most welcoming resort I have visited.  From the parking lot guy to the gas station cashier there is an overwhelming sense of community and pride in their home mountain.  Go get a copy and read the story. Came home to the SBC Skier and Snowboarder Resort Guide sticking out of my mailbox.  Got two sweet shots published in the NorthEast section.  One from Jay Peak and one from Killington.  But the kicker is I also have a short column published as well.  Who knew I could write?  Starts off with a little intro from the editors "Justin Cash is an accomplished ski and snowboard photographer who..."  If it's in print it must be true, right?

Sometimes images I shoot take a while to find a proper home.  This particular image of Ben Wheeler was shot in the slack-country outside Alta during the 2009 Ski Salt Lake Shootout.

Ski Season

Ski season got underway a few weeks ago.  Finally got off my ass and made it up to Killington to pick up my pass, take a few runs and even shoot a few images for ESPN.com.

This was absolutely my favorite shot from the 2010-11 ski season.  Pure powder bliss.  The day was perfect, 2 feet of blower and sun peaking through the clouds.  Big ups to Galin Foley for taking the time rip a few deep turns.
